General Manager
Leadership Spotlight
Edelweiss Lodge and Resort proudly welcomes Edward Fagan as its new General Manager. Mr. Fagan succeeds Brian Borda, the longest-serving General Manager in the resort’s history, who led the organization with distinction for over six years.
Mr. Fagan brings over five decades of leadership and hospitality expertise to Edelweiss Lodge and Resort. A 1974 graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, he began his distinguished career serving in the U.S. Army, including combat operations during Operation Desert Storm.
His career with the Armed Forces Recreation Centers (AFRC) began in the 1990s in Europe, where he served as Assistant General Manager at Edelweiss Lodge and Resort. He is the only person in AFRC history to have served as General Manager at all four AFRC resorts — Hale Koa Hotel (Hawaii), Shades of Green (Walt Disney World), Dragon Hill Lodge (Korea), and now Edelweiss Lodge and Resort (Germany).
Mr. Fagan assumed his current role on March 27, 2025, overseeing a world-class resort with 393 guestrooms, 247 employees, and supporting 100,000 guests annually. Edelweiss Lodge and Resort provides a premier vacation experience for U.S. Service Members, Families, and Civilians stationed in Europe.
With a passion for service and a deep understanding of the AFRC mission, Mr. Fagan is dedicated to preserving the legacy of Edelweiss Lodge and Resort while leading it into the future.
