Dog Rooms

Vacation with your dog at Edelweiss Lodge and Resort

Starting February 3rd service members stationed in Europe can vacation with their dog at Edelweiss Lodge and Resort in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany. No more putting the dog in an expensive kennel or having to coordinate a dog sitter while you are on vacation. A limited number of standard rooms at Edelweiss Lodge and Resort are currently being converted to allow dogs. The converted rooms will have the carpet replaced with tile, scratch guards installed and a fenced area outside.

“We realize that dogs are an important part of the service member family. We wanted to provide guests the opportunity to experience this incredible vacation destination with the companionship of their four-legged friends,” said Clesson Allman, General Manager of Edelweiss Lodge and Resort.

Reservations for a dog friendly room must be made in advance by contacting the Vacation Planning Center by phone. Dogs will not be allowed to stay in non-converted rooms and dogs will not be permitted in the main lobby, restaurants or any common area of the hotel (other than the hallway accessing the converted rooms) to ensure non-pet owners’ vacations are not disturbed in anyway. There is a separate entrance to dog rooms to facilitate access.

Below is a list of rules that pet owners should be aware of when making a booking for a dog room. No other pets other than dogs are permitted. It is also possible to reserve a Comfy Dog Cabin in our Vacation Village. The cabins provide a little more room in a relaxed campground environment. Please contact the Vacation Planning Center by calling (49) 08821-9440 Monday - Friday 0800 - 1700 hours or email vacation@edelweisslodgeandresort.com
